Thomas B. Lawson is Vice President of Private Placements at Folio Institutional, a division of Foliofn Investments, in McLean, Virginia. Mr. Lawson provides legal, regulatory and strategic guidance to the development and operations of Folio’s Private Capital Network, VIA Folio, which supports transactions in unlisted securities. Mr. Lawson’s expertise in securities law and financial industry regulation comes from decades of leadership in the field.
Prior to joining Folio, Mr. Lawson was Chief Counsel in the Department of Enforcement at the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), and Assistant Director of the Division of Enforcement at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), both in Washington, DC. He received a bachelor’s degree from Union College and a Juris Doctor degree from Hofstra University School of Law.
