Svetoslav Gatchev is partner at Delphos International, a DC-based project finance advisory boutique. He has over seventeen years of experience in project and structured trade finance in emerging markets. Mr. Gatchev has assisted multiple US and international sponsors and has participated in the design and arrangement of innovative structured trade and project finance solutions for landmark transactions in a variety of industries and countries. Mr. Gatchev has developed particular expertise in arranging long-term, limited-recourse financing for private investments in renewable and conventional energy, telecommunications, and other infrastructure projects in emerging markets, utilizing development finance institutions (IFC, OPIC, etc.), export credit agencies (Ex-Im Bank etc.), and political risk insurers (OPIC, MIGA, etc.) in conjunction with commercial sources of funding. Mr. Gatchev has advised on multiple closed power projects, including award-winning thermal power transactions in Bulgaria, Botswana and Argentina, multiple PV solar transactions in India, wind in the Dominican Republic, and a series of hydropower projects in Panama. Mr. Gatchev has advised the U.S. Export-Import Bank and foreign governments under USTDA and USAID-funded mandates. He earned an executive MBA (class valedictorian) from NYU’s Stern School of Business. He holds Series 7 and Series 63 FINRA licenses.
