Susan Dentzer is Senior Policy Adviser at the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the nation’s largest philanthropy focused on U.S. health and health care. One of the nation’s most respected health policy thought leaders, she is also an on-air analyst on health issues on the PBS NewsHour. She was formerly editor-in-chief of Health Affairs, the peer-reviewed journal of health policy, and the PBS NewsHour’s on-air health correspondent, where she received numerous honors and awards.
Dentzer is an elected member of the National Academy of Medicine of the National Academy of Sciences and the Council on Foreign Relations. She is director of the American Board of Medical Specialties; of Research!America, which works to advance research to improve health; and of the Public Health Institute. Ms. Dentzer graduated from Dartmouth, is a trustee emerita and former Chair of Dartmouth’s Board of Trustees, and is an Overseer of the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth.
