Sara is Principal of SH International, which expands businesses through global deals, ventures and initiatives, specializing in tapping into emerging markets opportunities. She has extensive on-the-ground emerging markets business experience across Latin America, the Middle East, Africa, Eastern Europe, Central Asia and South Asia. She is a sharp negotiator and takes pride in being both business savvy and street smart.
She is Chair of the International Forum of the Wharton Club of DC, as well as member of the advisory board of the Sote Tunaweza Initiative, which empowers women in emerging markets through leadership and entrepreneurship institutes. She has been cited or published on emerging markets business in Business Insider, Wharton Entrepreneurship Blog, Nearshore Americas, Forum for International Trade Training, Merger Market, and Pharmaceutical Compliance Monitor. She has spoken on emerging markets business for institutions including: U.S. Small Business Administration, Mid-Atlantic District Export Council, SCORE, U.S. Commercial Service, Fox School of Business, Global Enterprise Hub, and the Wharton School.
Sara previously worked for the International Finance Corporation, part of the World Bank Group. She studied finance and business at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and is pursuing executive studies in organizational leadership at Georgetown University. She speaks six languages: French, Spanish, Arabic, Turkish, Hindi/Urdu, and her native English. She was born and raised in Wilmington, Delaware, and currently lives in Washington, DC.
