Neeraj Bhushan MD is a board certified Internist, with 35 years of dedicated service to his patients in the Washington Metropolitan area. He served as the first Chairman of Department of Medicine at Reston Hospital Center from 1986-1987, President of the Medical Staff from 1997-2000, and member of the Board of Trustees from 1997-2003.
Dr Bhushan’s medical practice vision and keen focus on cost containment and quality of care created a value/outcome based healthcare model; which identified an indisputable correlation between obesity, diabetes and escalating healthcare costs.
In 2010, Dr Bhushan established Benchmark Health Systems to fight the epidemic of obesity and related chronic medical diseases to improve the quality of life of his patients through education, wellness counseling and tracking patient outcomes. The current healthcare system has to address population health to meet our future healthcare needs.
His deep spiritual belief of one God is attested by lifelong participation in spiritual retreats worldwide. In April 2015, he was the recipient of the Hospital Corporation of America’s Frist Humanitarian Award of Distinction.
