Fatimah Alshaikh is a gifted high school student; identified to be among the top 1% of students in Saudi Arabia by the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (Mawhiba) that selects top students in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through rigorous psychometric testing. She is passionate about solving real-life problems impacting the society; she worked for two years on an innovative device which helps epilepsy and balance disorder patients. Fatimah’s invention was selected out of 70,000 others to participate in The National Olympiad for Scientific Creativity. Recently, she was selected to participate in The Saudi Research Science Institute (SRSI), in which top Saudi high school students throughout the Kingdom conduct university-level research under the mentorship of King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) faculty. Fatimah is now the President of the Research & Innovation Club at her school where she inspires students to innovate.
