Claiborne has been active in investment management since 1985, working with institutional and private investors on global investment strategies. Under the aegis of his own firm and with others, Claiborne has worked with early-stage investors and entrepreneurs to raise capital and commercialize technologies and has been expanding into crowdfunding recently. He is currently in the process of registering a crowdfunding portal with the SEC and FINRA in advance of the upcoming Title III rules, which take effect in May 2016. Claiborne also co-chairs the DC chapter of the Booth Energy Network, a group of University of Chicago alumni focusing on energy and energy policy, and is active in the Booth DC Entrepreneur’s Advisory Group. Claiborne has an MBA from the University of Chicago and a BA from St. John’s College, where he serves on its Board of Visitors & Governors.
